In April 2023, diving inspection of erosional features yielded an important discovery in the form of in situ trees - saplings -together with sub-fossil animal bone excavated adjacent to one of the small trees.
The Geoarchaeology Lab team participated in Anthropology Day on February 16th. Fun time and we were able to interact with lots of visitors to our table.

Dr. Ervan Garrison, of the University of Georgia, will undertake a study of submerged prehistoric archaeological sites drowned after the end of the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). The sites are expected to be found on the Atlantic Ocean’s Continental Shelf of the Georgia Bight.
